My feeling is that entrepreneurship may blossom in Belgium soon. There are few things that still need to happen such as more successful exits from companies like Netlog, increasing focus on regulation that supports easier company formation and the maintenance of fabulous initiatives such as Betagroup, Web Missions and of course more Bizcamps :) The talent is there, multilingual, well educated and ambitious.
This optimism maybe well founded but there is still a shortage of commercial skill in taking companies from 10 people to 100 people and 1Million in turnover to 10Million, I wonder what people will do to bridge that gap in Belgium, perhaps a simpler economic climate for European/Global business makes this problem smaller, there is no such thing as a Belgian start-up, just a company that is based somewhere in the heart of Europe, with good ideas getting financed and built wherever you are...we'll see.
